The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower

The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower sits at the north end of the Strip with the tallest observation tower in the U.S. and insanely scary thrill rides on top. It also has low-priced rooms along with restaurants, bars and shops. The vibe: Vegas from on high, easy on the pocket, last stop on the Strip before downtown What we love: You can’t miss the The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower. At 1,149 feet tall, it dominates the skyline standing out like a giant. We locals use it for navigational purposes. As you can imagine, the views of the city are extraordinary. If the views aren’t enough for you to get your kicks (we’re talking to adrenaline junkies now), then check out the not one, not two, not three…but four different thrill rides. All of them are awesome in their own way. Dangle off the tower on the fast spinning Insanity or teeter-tottery X-Scream. Be shot straight up into the sky on Big Shot. Or walk right off the edge on the vertical zip line SkyJump. Not to keep talking about the tower, but also located up there is a gourmet restaurant suitably named Top of the World. It revolves 360 degrees. Romance might as well be an item on the menu. If your wallet’s starting to feel that vacation squeeze, check out the 108 Drinks instead. Situated a floor above Top of the World, it offers similar jaw-dropping views and fantastic cocktails. We love, love, love the low room rates at the The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower — but be prepared because the location (see below) puts you at the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. Insider tips: You’ll need transportation to the heart of the Strip or downtown if you don’t have access to a car. Taxis are available beneath the porte-cochere, but the cheapest and often easiest way to get around is by bus. The Deuce (with 24-hour service) and SDX routes both have stops in front of The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower. Looking for cheap drinks? You’ll find some great deals in View Lounge, the round bar in the center of the casino. While you may be away from the center Strip, you are close to a beloved Vegas landmark. Luv-It Frozen Custard, a little stand that opened in 1973, is on the northeast corner of Las Vegas and Oakey boulevards, within walking distance of The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower. The custard here is so rich and velvety you’ll spurn ice cream. Also if you’re sucking it up and walking to SLS, pop into Bonanza Gifts on the northeast corner of the Strip and Sahara Avenue. You’ll be blown away by all the stuff — some classy but most of it bizarre (like Polly, a potty-mouthed parrot) — you can buy at the self-proclaimed “world’s largest gift shop.” Good to know: You should know that The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower is positioned on the north end of the Strip and downtown. It’s not within walking distance to downtown and it’s a long way from the heart of the action on the Strip. It’s a half mile to get to Sahara Las Vegas and then another 1.5 miles to reach Wynn Las Vegas and Encore. On the bright side, there is a bus stop and shuttle stop right in front of the hotel. We recommend taking the Deuce if you’re heading to downtown or the central part of the Strip. (If you’re here for an adventure-seeking weekend, you can enjoy the rides at Circus-Circus after crossing the STRAT ones off your list. Circus-Circus is less than a mile away.)  After mentioning all the great things you can do on the tower, we sadly have to tell you there are no rooms up there. All the rooms are located in traditional hotel buildings. The base-level rooms are small and come with the bare necessities while the STRAT Select rooms have MP3 alarm clocks, 42-inch flat-screen TVs and safes. If views are important to you, we recommend you upgrade to a room that’s located on a higher floor or has a Strip view. What shows and concerts are playing at The STRAT?: Shows at The STRAT include: Iluminate, Rouge: The Sexiest Show in Vegas!, Banachek’s Mind Games, and LA Comedy Club What is there to do at The STRAT?: The STRAT offers some of the best views of the Las Vegas Strip via The STRAT observation deck and rides including Big Shot, SkyJump, X-Screem at the top of the tower. What makes The STRAT unique?: The STRAT (formerly Stratosphere) is known for its outrageous height, jetting into the stratosphere and providing some of the best views of the Las Vegas Valley.

The Signature at MGM Grand – All Suites

The Signature at MGM Grand-All Suites merges a luxury resort with the amenities of a timeshare (like a kitchen) while giving you access to everything at the neighboring MGM Grand — including its casino, nightclubs, restaurants and pools. The vibe: The suite life with a touch of home, quiet and exclusive, a hideaway from the crowds of weekend partiers What we love: The Signature at MGM Grand-All Suites is a nongaming, nonsmoking resort. This means there’ll be no noisy slot machines and no clouds of smoke hovering about. Yes, everything — from the lobby to your suite — smells nice and clean. The balconies on select suites are awesome. If you’re on a high floor, you could stay out on them for hours surveying all that goes on below. There are incredible views of either the Las Vegas Strip or the surrounding valley (and from some suites you can actually watch the planes take off and land at Harry Reid International Airport). The property offers condo-style accommodations but the suites also come with many of the amenities you’d expect of an upscale hotel. For example, relax your weary body in a whirlpool tub after a long day (or night) on the town. Plus, some of the suites have cool TVs that rise from the desks. Insider tips: As a guest of The Signature at MGM Grand-All Suites you can take advantage of all the amenities at MGM Grand — like the Grand Pool complex. We recommend you do this because even though each tower at The Signature has its own heated outdoor pool, the one at MGM Grand is tricked out — it boasts five pools and a 1,000-foot-long lazy river. If you’re hungry and don’t feel like going over to MGM Grand or the Strip, try Delights. This deli located in the second tower serves a lot more than just sandwiches. You can get a good skillet scramble for breakfast or one of several different pastas for dinner. And when you’re looking to relax with a drink, check out The Lounge, a swanky bar located in the first tower.   Got a coffee craving? Now there’s a coffee maker in your suite, but if you don’t feel like brewing your own cup, head to Delights. Good to know: Regarding those fabulous balconies, you’ll have to drag a chair out if you want to sit outside. There’s no patio furniture on them. Thanks to the guarded gate, it can feel strange arriving at The Signature at MGM Grand-All Suites the first time. You’ll be given a pass there and told which tower you’re in. There is no self-parking area at The Signature, but self-parking is available at MGM Grand. Parking fees will apply. Speaking of walking, expect to do a fair amount when you stay at The Signature. Consisting of three identical towers, it typically takes at least 10 minutes to walk from the farthest one to MGM Grand. The towers are all linked together and connected to the megaresort via moving walkways. Of course, MGM Grand is huge in itself, so once you get there you’ll have to do more walking. Oddly enough, even though the suites at The Signature come with either kitchenettes or full kitchens, you’re not going to find any dishware, silverware or cooking utensils in them. You’ll have to ask at the front desk on arrival or call the concierge to get those delivered. There is no charge for this, and you may request any number of plates, glasses, pots, pans and more that you desire. This is a non-smoking hotel. Guests who light up in their room will be assessed a cleaning fee upon checkout. Smoke in designated areas, such as MGM Grand’s casino next door.

Suncoast

When searching for a family-friendly resort in Las Vegas, some of the Strip properties can be a bit overwhelming. Partiers and club-goers are fun when you’re single or at least when you don’t have kids, or obligations, or social consciences. But once the thrill/molly wears off, you’re left looking for a resort that’s more up your calm and relaxing alley. Welcome to the Suncoast. When you’re planning your family activities, Suncoast has a variety of entertaining options to meet your needs. A 64-lane, Brunswick-equipped bowling alley is great for kids, adults and adults who act like kids. They even offer $1.00 bowling after 10 p.m. certain days. For more outdoor fun, the resort is surrounded by some of the best golf courses in the area and is always happy to help you set up a tee time. The 500-seat showroom hosts a variety of live headliners, from The Lovin’ Spoonful and The Manhattans to comedian Ronn Lucas and magician Rick Thomas. And the Time Out Arcade and 16-screen movie theater cater to all ages. Dining options abound at the Suncoast, whether you need to feed the family or indulge in more adult fare. SC Prime Steakhouse & Bar combines an unforgettable view of the Las Vegas valley with a fine selection of USDA prime aged beef dishes. Salvatore’s is a charming Italian-themed restaurant. The upscale St. Tropez International Buffet boasts seven unique food stations. And several eateries, such as The Game and Bagel Corner Deli & Bakery, are perfect for a casual family dining experience.  If you’re traveling without kids, or you’ve just left them in the room to entertain themselves with their phones and tablets that they’ve probably had since they were two, Pure Salon & Spa provides exquisite pampering to melt away all the stress of trying to get those devices out of the kids’ hands. The fitness center is open 24 hours a day. And the casino at the Suncoast is a whopping 95,000 square feet, with more than 2,000 video poker and slot machines, 34 table games and a 150-seat race and sports book. The only thing you’ll be missing about the family is that whole love and affection stuff. Set into the modern neighborhood of Summerlin (about 35 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip), Suncoast is a warm and inviting resort perfect for families, older travelers or anyone who cares more about golf and lounging by the pool than clubbing or people watching on the Strip. With easy access to the rest of the city via the beautiful Summerlin Parkway, Suncoast is connected to the Vegas mentality, yet soothing enough to stand on its own.

Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa

THE VIBE:: A diamond in the rough, Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa is a local favorite on the northwest side of Las Vegas. Set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, the resort is located only 10 miles west of the Strip on Charleston Boulevard, just off the Las Vegas Beltway in Summerlin. WHY WE LOVE IT:: Masterfully combining sophistication, exuberance and class with the highly-sought after Las Vegas party vibe, Red Rock is far more than a hotel and casino — it’s a tucked away oasis equipped to cater to the beckoning call of Las Vegas locals and visitors alike. Aesthetically complimentary to its natural surroundings, the 800-room property boasts desert-inspired architecture and features materials like stunning crystals, exotic woods, red sandstone as well as lovely water features that trickle to your heart’s content year-round. GOOD TO KNOW:: And while the pools are not open year-round, when the summer months begin, The Sandbar Pool — located atop the resort’s four-acre deck — is the place to be. Configured in a circular pattern, the main pool is centrally located on the deck with a stunning fountain bursting from its center, while its outskirts are occupied with eight smaller wading pools as well as lounge chairs, daybeds and cabanas. On the wet deck, you’ll also find poolside gaming and a café and in the evenings, this area is often converted into an open-air nightclub that hosts concerts and special events. And yes, while it’s true that you really shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, you have absolute permission to judge Red Rock by its dining selection (because it’s really great). Brimming with delicious offerings from the restaurants that cover just about every craving, the restaurants within the resort are frequented by locals who aren’t even staying at the hotel. Yes, they are that good. The upscale steakhouse T-Bones Chophouse cooks delicious dry-aged prime steaks and bone-in meats and Yard House dishes incredible contemporary American fare, with more than 130 beers on tap… yep, 130 bubbly drafts. You can also savor heaps of old-fashioned barbecue at Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que. Additionally, Hearthstone offers rustic American restaurant kitchen meals by Chef Brian Massie of The Light Group. 8 Noodle Bar (known for its steamed buns and ramen noodles) features a menu with touches of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai cuisine influences. And yes, we understand the pain of enduring the  indecisiveness of that one person in your group (we all know who this person is in our circle of people) so we are happy to let you know that Red Rock is also home to The Feast Buffet that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a selection featuring a variety of globally-inspired dishes (a.k.a. something for everyone).  But for the night owls and early birds, the Grand Café is open around the clock and ready to serve you everything from breakfast skillets to prime rib whenever hunger strikes. And lastly, for quick bites, the food court is always solid options if you’re running late for your movie or cosmic bowling date. Located right next to the food court is Red Rock Resort’s 16-screen Regal Cinemas and IMAX complex as well as the Red Rock Lanes — a 60-lane bowling center with a state-of-the-art audio and visual system so the venue can be transformed into a nighttime party atmosphere with glowing lights, strobes and fog. But if you’re more into the relaxing atmosphere, take it from us that we know why the resort’s spa is mentioned in the full resort name – Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa. The spa and salon at Red Rock offers everything from sumptuous body treatments and massages to a top-of-the-line hair salon as well as manicures and pedicures. There’s also a variety of customized outdoor recreation programs that involve hiking, kayaking, rock climbing and bike riding through the Adventure Spa. And if your idea of a day at the spa has simply become a break from the broken record, “mom, mom, mom?” soundtrack of your life for an hour or two (or three…four?), parents will appreciate Kids Quest — an indoor recreation area for children between six weeks and 12 years of age to play and learn with a daily array of fun and educational activities while parents enjoy some grown-up playtime.   Speaking of playtime (for grown-ups, that is), in the evenings there is no shortage of entertainment and drinks. Elvis Monroe, Zowie Bowie in addition to other bands can be found regularly in Rocks Lounge and the Onyx Bar. You can also relax with a cocktail in the Lucky Bar and the Cabana Club. The casino is also filled with glitz, glamour and action. There are 3,000 of the latest slot and video poker machines and 60 table games to choose from. In addition to a high-limit room, gamblers will discover a 206-seat race and sports book, a smoke-free poker room, a sprawling bingo hall (with smoking and non-smoking sections) and a keno lounge. However, even with all of the activities inside of the resort, there is plenty to do just outside of the hotel’s doors as well. Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa has an outdoor pedestrian walkway that links to Downtown Summerlin, a 1.6 million-square-foot shopping and entertainment destination across the street. Also, the Las Vegas Strip, which offers an assortment of world-class entertainers, shops, restaurants and thriving nightlife, is only a 20-minute drive away.   INSIDER TIP:: Red Rock Resort is just minutes to the stunning Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, a gorgeous natural desert land scape filled places to go hiking, biking and tour.

Hampton Inn Las Vegas Strip South

Welcome to Hampton Inn & Suites Las Vegas Strip South, where you can enjoy sophistication and relaxation, or all the non-stop action Las Vegas has to offer. The Las Vegas Strip offers 24-hour nightlife, world-renowned dining, casino action and lots of fun. But when you stay at this hotel, you’ll also enjoy the convenience of attractions like the Lake Mead Recreation Area and the historic Hoover Dam, which are only a short drive away.  Discover the other side of Las Vegas at Red Rock Canyon or go hiking, skiing or snowboarding at nearby Mount Charleston. Whether traveling for business or leisure, ask the friendly hotel team for more tips on all the area’s attractions or about the shuttle service. And when you’re ready to spend the day relaxing, the hotel offers a full range of services and amenities to make your stay exceptional.

Mandalay Bay

With high-profile bars, entertainment and eateries as well as shopping and golden sand, the massive Mandalay Bay tips the scales of fun to the south end of the Strip.  The vibe: Boasting a vast beachy layout, this one-stop has-it-all (including massive convention facilities) What we love: This pool area will impress even the snobbiest of beach freaks. Called Mandalay Beach, it spans a whopping 11.5 acres. In addition to three large pools, a lazy river and tons of white sand, there’s a 1.6-million-gallon wave pool where the surf’s always up.  If you’re looking to explore the depths of the ocean check out the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay that features a wide variety of reptiles and aquatic animals as well as hands-on shark and turtle feeds for an extra fee.  Insider tips: Because this resort is all about the water vibes, why not have the most luxurious bath of your life by getting a room with one of their massive tubs and stopping by Lush in The Shoppes at Mandalay Place to stock up on colorful bath bombs, bubbles, and oils to make bath time a work of art.  Good to know: Remember that awesome pool we told you about above, well, it closes during winter (usually from November to February). Being a mid-range, upmarket hotel, you’ll pay more for rooms here…but don’t expect luxury amenities. The standard deluxe rooms are spacious at about 550 square feet and come with a 42-inch flat-screen TV as well as a 15-inch one in the bathroom. But there’s no refrigerator (just a minibar with sensors that charge you if you move anything). Keep in mind if you book a non-smoking room and light up in here, you’ll be charged a hefty cleaning fee at checkout. Your best bet is to smoke downstairs in the casino or neighboring bars.   The cardio room at Mandalay Bay is small for such a huge resort but you’ll get a lot of exercise just from walking around. Location-wise, Mandalay Bay sits on the southernmost end of the Strip (it’s not in the heart of the action). Many visitors like the remote location, but if you need to get to showrooms and restaurants at other hotels, make sure you leave well in advance. If you don’t have a car, there are Deuce/RTC bus stops in front of the resort. Use those to get anywhere you want to go. There’s also a fully enclosed (and air-conditioned) walkway between Luxor and Excalibur.

Arizona Charlie’s Decatur

Arizona Charlie’s Decatur is primarily known as a locals’ spot because of its location. It’s not on the Las Vegas Strip or in downtown — but it’s also not situated too far away from them, via the nearby I-95. Small in size, housing just under 260 rooms, the resort has a personable staff and can be a good value for visitors who are watching their budgets.  Arizona Charlie’s Decatur has no garage, but self-parking lots can be found in front and on both sides of the resort. The rooms are affordable with the usual basic amenities. Rooms in the Klondike Tower are the newest. There’s also a small arcade for kids, a seasonal swimming pool with a Jacuzzi, and meeting rooms. Plus, you can bring something back for those you left at home by stopping at the General Store Gift Shop. The hotel is also located close to the Springs Preserve and Nevada State Museum. If you dig vintage and antique items, make sure to check out the Charleston Antique Mall, located in the shopping center adjacent to Arizona Charlie’s. It’s one of the largest antique shops in town. The casino at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur offers table games, a keno lounge, a small poker room and a lively race and sports book … not to mention banks of slot and video poker machines. It also boasts an all-enclosed, smoke-free slot room. Dining options at Arizona Charlie’s Decatur are varied and affordable. Ron’s Steakhouse features fine cuts of meat. For a more casual atmosphere, try the 24-hour Sourdough Cafe, where you can enjoy your favorites for breakfast, lunch and dinner — including famous late-night eats like sirloin steak and eggs. The Charlie’s Market Buffet takes it up a notch by featuring a baked potato bar as well as a carving station serving juicy prime rib. You’ll also find items like sushi, peel and eat shrimp, osso buco and much more. If you’re in a hurry, pop into Noble Roman’s pizzeria or Subway for a quick bite. While the nightlife doesn’t get too crazy at Arizona Charlie’s, there are several places to grab a good cocktail like the Elbow Creek Bar and Jake’s Bar. You’ll also find live music and cheap drinks in the Naughty Ladies’ Saloon.

Harrah’s

Near the heart of the Strip, Harrah’s Las Vegas is a base for budget-conscious visitors because of its inexpensive rooms as well as a selection of shows, restaurants and bars with mass appeal. The vibe: Bargain accommodations with a dash of Mardi Gras spirit in a near central Strip location. What we love: Everyone wants to be near the center of the Strip. By staying at Harrah’s you won’t pay through the nose for that privilege. Wait, do we actually have to elaborate on that? OK, so you can walk over to The LINQ Promenade next door and get on the High Roller Observation Wheel. Eat, drink and shop like a Roman across the street at Caesars Palace. Mosey over to The Mirage where dolphins swim and a volcano erupts nightly. Because this is just the tip of the iceberg, that’s enough…we’re done talking about how ideal Harrah’s location is. While we don’t love eating fried bologna sandwiches (of course, we respect your desire to eat them), we do adore Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill. Named for one of the country superstar’s hit singles, this joint is bursting at the seams with live music, dancing, beer and big portions of good ol’ home-style food. As far as buffets go, Flavors is worth a visit. Instead of waxing poetic about the prime rib and crab legs, let’s skip right to the good stuff. The dessert station. This one is stocked with things you don’t often see at buffets – like donuts, cinnamon rolls and bread pudding. If you have a sweet tooth, this buffet is for you.  Insider tips: Some things on the Strip aren’t within walking distance – but you can get to those via the Las Vegas Monorail. There’s a station that straddles Harrah’s and The LINQ Hotel & Casino behind the properties. Don’t be afraid to use the self-parking garage. Compared to other Vegas hotels, this one is easy to navigate and convenient. You can access it from the Strip in front of Harrah’s or from Linq Lane behind the resort. Once you’ve parked and taken an elevator to the ground floor, the resort’s porte cochere and front desk are merely steps away. Good to know: Harrah’s is the perfect place for you to find affordable rooms that put you right on the Strip. If you’d really like something to see from your window and you’re a fan of giant observation wheels, then upgrade to a room with a view of the High Roller. There is valet and self-parking. Rates vary, so click here for details.

Horseshoe Las Vegas (formerly Bally’s)

Formerly Bally’s, the legendary casino brand Horseshoe, known for gaming, poker, and making it right for the gambler, has arrived center strip. Be yourself and stay in the heart of the action at Horseshoe, offering the best Las Vegas hotel deals. Unwind in a spacious, renovated room at this iconic center strip Vegas hotel. The vibe: Classic, inexpensive, right smack in the middle of everything What we love: Don’t forget to take a stroll around the casino floor to see all of the classic showgirl costumes from the bygone Jubilee days! These brightly colored works of art are dripping in sparkly rhinestones and are finished off with gravity-defying headpieces that just scream classic Sin City. If you want to be in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, Horseshoe is an affordable option. In some ways it’s a bare-bones kind of place – you know, nothing fancy.  Insider tips: Horseshoe Las Vegas hotel shares a parking garage with the adjacent Paris Hotel. The two properties are also connected via a walkway filled with shops so you can easily go back and forth between the two hotels and enjoy the amenities of both. Good to know: Not all views are created equally. If you splurge on the Jubilee Tower, you should also splurge on the view. The north side of this tower faces The Cromwell and Flamingo, which isn’t a bad thing, however over on the south side you’ll have awesome views of the Bellagio Fountain and Eiffel Tower. If you’re into classic Vegas, you’ll come across touches of old elegance – like the curved staircase that leads from the restaurants into the Avenue Shops. Set off by mirrors at the top and water features on each side, stepping down these stairs feels like going back in time. There is valet and self-parking. Rates vary, so click here for details. What shows and concerts are playing at Horseshoe Las Vegas? : Shows at Horseshoe Las Vegas include: Paranormal Mind Reading Magic, Potted Potter, Farrell Dillon – Hilarious Magic, Lioz Show, and Extravaganza – The Vegas Spectacular. What is there to do at Horseshoe Las Vegas?: Check out the Swarovski Starburst, the outdoor Grand Bazaar Shops or the neighboring Paris Hotel. What makes Horseshoe Las Vegas unique?: The Grand Bazaar Shops at Horseshoe are a unique retail collective of shops and restaurants in an outdoor market setting on the Las Vegas Strip.

Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park

From the classic midway and free circus acts under the pink-and-white big top to the thrilling rides in The Adventuredome, Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park, with its inexpensive rooms, has been a family favorite since it opened in 1968. The vibe: For kids and kids at heart. Bare basics but fun -a circus with gambling. What we love: OK parents, this is the plain and simple truth: Your kids will never be bored here. With so many different forms of amusement, we guarantee the last thing you’ll ever hear at Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park is that all-too-familiar chorus of “We’re bored. What can we do?” We know it looks like kookiness incarnate (as no self-respecting architect would design a giant pink glass dome with a five-acre theme park beneath it), but The Adventuredome is loads of fun and full of thrills for all ages with thrill rides out the wazoo. Insider tips: Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park has a slew of restaurants to choose from. Circus Buffet, Pizzeria and The Steakhouse are just a few of the favorites. Since Circus Circus is so family-oriented, some of the restaurants close a little earlier on weekdays. Because of this, we advise you not to wait until the wee hours to get dinner or your options may be limited. Circus Circus is a long way from the center and south Strip’s popular attractions. This distance is technically walkable, but it’s a LONG walk. If you haven’t got a car, your best option is to hail a cab, use your ride-sharing service or speak with a member of the front desk for public transportation assistance. You can park in one of three garages at Circus Circus. The Skyrise Tower has its own dedicated garage whereas the other two garages form something of an “L” shape at the resort’s congested south end. Good to know: Please note: All rooms at the hotel are non-smoking; be prepared to pay a hefty cleaning fee if you light up. So please only smoke in designated areas, like the casino.  Self-parking is free.  For a better location, consider the still small yet very affordable rooms in the Skyrise Tower. They’re perfect if you’ve got a group of kids in tow because they’re close to both The Adventuredome and the resort’s pools. For a splurge, the Casino Tower is the way to go. Located above the casino, its rooms are larger and come with all the modern comforts. If you have an allergy to children, this hotel is not for you. Just in case you’re a bit slow on the uptake and missed this point from everything written above – expect to see a lot of kids at Circus Circus. What shows and concerts are playing at Circus Circus? : There are no showrooms at Circus Circus, but you can enjoy free circus acts daily, no reservations required. What is there to do at Circus Circus? : The Adventuredome is an indoor theme park equipped with a 4-D Special FX Theatre and roller coasters like the Canyon Blaster, Chaos, Disk ‘O, El Loco, Inverter, Motion Rides and The Sling Shot. What makes Circus Circus unique?: From the thrilling rides and midway games in The Adventuredome to gourmet dining at The Steak House, the classic Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park has been a family favorite for years.

Flamingo

Themed as an island paradise (and a Jimmy Buffett outpost) and located on the busiest intersection of the Strip, the Flamingo is replete with entertainment, good eats, and pink flamingos. The vibe: Fabulously pink with a bright, tropical attitude. What we love: Right next to the wildlife habitat is the kind of pool you could spend the majority of your Vegas trip at (as long as you don’t come in winter when it’s closed). Not only are there palms trees and lush greenery everywhere your eyes can see, but the main pool is interconnected to lagoon areas, a waterslide and cascading waterfall. Factor in the hot tubs and modest-sized deck (with lounge chairs that get claimed quickly, so you may want to spring for a cabana here) and you’ve got a chill vibe that’s more friendly than clubby as well as fun for all ages. It’s hard to do better location-wise than the Flamingo. The rooms are reasonably priced especially considering you’re steps away from elite resorts and attractions like the Fountains at Bellagio, the High Roller observation wheel, the Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck and The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace. Insider tips: Snap a photo at Bugsy Siegel’s memorial. It’s located between the wildlife habitat and the pools, just outside the wedding chapel. Look for a stone pillar and bronze plaque set amid a beautiful garden. This marks the site of the original hotel (knocked down in 1993). Don’t wait to check out. When lines are long, you’ll often spot a roving ambassador at the Flamingo with the ability to check you out on an iPad. The only down side: You won’t get your receipt immediately. You’ll have to wait until it’s emailed to you. Use the Flamingo’s north doors when you’re going to The LINQ Promenade. Otherwise you’ll have to walk out onto the Strip. Trust us, you want to avoid the river of people that flows along the sidewalk here. Nothing beats the direct access you have from the resort’s side entrance. Good to know: The Flamingo opened in 1946. We’re telling you this for two reasons. One: That’s really cool historically. Two: Despite the age of the building, you’ll find that many of the rooms and amenities are newly upgraded and perfectly contemporary. Remember how we mentioned that this hotel was built in 1946…well, being constructed back then means that you’ll find low ceilings in the casino compared to those at newer properties. If you start to feel overwhelmed or closed in while gambling, stroll over to the Margaritaville Casino. The doors are open to the Strip so it feels roomier and the ventilation is better.  The Flamingo has a dedicated seven-story parking garage — used for both valet and self-parking. On busy weekends it can fill up. When this happens, valet parking may be restricted to registered guests and Caesars Rewards club members. What shows and concerts are playing at the Flamingo?: Shows playing at the Flamingo include: RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!, Piff the Magic Dragon, X Burlesque, and Wayne Newton: Up Close and Personal. What is there to do at the Flamingo? : There is the Wildlife Habitat filled with the hotel’s signature flamingos. There is also the neighboring LINQ Promenade, filled with shops and restaurants and the High Roller Observation Wheel. What makes the Flamingo unique?: Few resorts on the Las Vegas Strip have a mascot to compliment their name, let alone a flock. But the Flamingo has an abundance of, well, flamingos located in their Wildlife Habitat.

SAHARA Las Vegas

Party around the clock at SAHARA Las Vegas Hotel & Casino on the north end of the Strip. Along with trendy pools, bars and nightclubs, this hotel is packed with celeb chef dining options. The vibe: Luxury meets modern-day business. What we love: This is a property with history – and we love that. An important piece of Elvis and Rat Pack lore, the Sahara Hotel & Casino is filled with so much history.  SAHARA Las Vegas is packed with high-tech wonders. There are seven different digital art installations in and around the property. Walk across color-changing floor tiles triggered by your feet inside the main entrance. And the north side of the parking garage facing Resort Pool Club forms a canvas for 3-D video mapping that will blow your mind. (We’ll leave it to you to find the remaining installations yourself.) Insider tips: Like the Blanca Tower, many of the rooms in the other towers at SAHARA Las Vegas boast interesting features. If you’re in the mood for romance, reserve a room in the Alexandria Tower. It comes with a mirror on the ceiling and a playful peek-a-boo shower. The Alexandria Tower suite also has a banquette by the window – perfect for kicking back in your plush bathrobe.  For some of the best people watching at the north end of the Strip, head to the beer garden at Beers & Bets. This outdoor area stretches alongside Las Vegas Boulevard near Sahara Avenue. Good to know: Because SAHARA Las Vegas is home to so many party places, you’re going to hear pumped up, EDM-style music overhead throughout the resort. And since the entrances to many of pool clubs, bars and nightclubs are in public areas, you’re also going to see long entry lines along with plenty of young partiers milling around.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

An ultra modern and high-end hotel with top-rated dining choices, popular nightlife options and unique, rotating attractions. The vibe: Über chic and sleek with a sophisticated design. This is a place to see and be seen. What we love: Normally, a combination of unlimited alcohol and a lack of inhibitions would veto the idea of a nice balcony in a hotel room. But at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, most Terrace One Bedrooms have a balcony. Even better, The Cosmopolitan has some of the best balcony views in town. For a bit extra, you can score a view of the Bellagio Fountains. And, while they cost more, the Wraparound Terrace Suites are panoramic and you can see all the way down or up the Strip (depending on which side of the hotel you’re on). Three levels-three words: The Chandelier Bar. Draped in enough sparkling crystal to make even Liberace jealous, the bar is adorned by a few million crystals in strands that run from the ceiling to the floor, making revelers feel as if they’re wrapped in a chandelier itself. It’s super sexy with a lot to offer including different menus on the each of the three tiers. The first level is a little more casino bar-like and often has live music or a DJ. Climb the glass staircase to the second tier and you’ll find the unrelenting creativity of true mixologists. Up one more floor to the posh lounge where you will indulge in the feminine mystique with a bird’s eye view. Let’s face it, at busy times all hotels have a wait at check-in. But at The Cosmopolitan the awesome floor-to-ceiling columns in the lobby that are wrapped in digital screens make the wait a bit more bearable. There’s eight of them and their rotating displays of film, photography, 2D and 3D animation are mesmerizing enough to keep us distracted in line or waiting for someone. Bonus: The displays are curated and changed on a regular basis so there’s always something new displaying. Insider tips: When booking one of the Terrace Wraparound Suites we love, make sure to ask for one that overlooks the Bellagio Fountains. The higher up you go, the more incredible the view. Take it from us; if you’re going to splurge on your vacation, this is where to do it. The second level of the Chandelier Bar has the best mixologists in the whole joint. While it’s not on the menu, order the Verbena. It’s an experience all on its own. You begin with chewing on the Szechuan Button, a little flower bud that will make your tongue tingle and go numb before the infusion of citrus and ginger burst into your mouth. Where else can you get an experience like that (assuming you’ve moved on from the days of pop rocks and soda)?  If you’re looking for a fine-dining experience on a budget, skip dinner and indulge in a little midday gluttony. Estiatorio Milos boasts some of the freshest and most-mouthwatering seafood in the desert and their three-course lunch menu is a bargain.  Good to know: The underground parking garage can be a bit confusing and kind of feels like you’re driving down into the center of the earth. If you’re claustrophobic, your Spidey sense is going to be out of control. The first set of elevator banks in the garage will not only take you to the lobby for check-in, but also straight to the buffet. The elevators at the west end are closer to the casino and shopping. While some people are completely comfortable in their silver fox or cougar status, others may think the crowd is a little too young and rowdy. If your glory days were more than two decades ago, you may want to consider your threshold for drunken 20-something shenanigans. Opulence ain’t cheap, folks. While you may not have to auction your first-born child to pay your tab, this is definitely not the dollar store. But honestly, if money is what you’re worried about on your next trip to Vegas, you probably won’t stay here anyway. This is definitely a place for those who appreciate the finer things in life. Smoking anywhere within the Cosmopolitan is no longer allowed, you can however still light up while seated at a slot machine or while at a table game if it has a plexiglass divider, inside the sportsbook or if you’re sitting inside a lounge. What shows and concerts are playing at The Cosmopolitan?: Shows playing at The Cosmopolitan are Opium and seasonal concerts and headliners in the Chelsea Theater. What is there to do at The Cosmopolitan?: The Cosmopolitan has the Superfrico supper club, Dive In Movies at the Boulevard Pool, multiple bars with live entertainment, luxury shopping and the Marquee Nightclub. What makes The Cosmopolitan unique?: A foodie’s dream dripping in glitz and glamour, The Cosmopolitan has some of the best food on The Strip with an elegance that is unrivaled. Make sure you take a picture with one of the giant high-heeled shoes around the resort.

The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa

Now this sounds like an indecent proposal: Come to Vegas…so you can leave and go somewhere else. But that’s really not so shocking once you know a bit about how wonderful a getaway to Lake Las Vegas for a night (or two, or three) can be — especially when you at stay The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa. Located about 15 miles southeast of the Las Vegas Strip, Lake Las Vegas is a world of its own. Here’s the story: In 1991 the manmade lake was created by building an 18-story dam (just imagine how Lake Mead was formed when Hoover Dam was constructed…but on a smaller scale). A tourist-friendly destination soon took shape around the shoreline dedicated to the pursuits of good food, relaxation and recreation. The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa provides all of these things in spades — along with beautiful views of the lake. This Moroccan-themed resort melds seamlessly into the rugged landscape, much like a desert oasis. And the atmosphere feels a lot less harried than that of the megaresorts on the Strip. When it comes to relaxation, Spa Moulay is a calming sanctuary with 11 treatment rooms. On its menu are an array of blissful massages and facials. Or soak up the sun at The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa’s multilevel pool, which has areas perfect for adults and children (thanks to the fun water slide). If you’re one of those active souls, stretch your muscles in a yoga class or try stand-up paddleboarding (it’s all the rage) on the lake.  The resort is also situated next to the Reflection Bay Golf Club. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, many of its 18 holes run along the shoreline (the 8th hole even takes you out to the end of a peninsula).  So if you find you need a break from the frenetic pace — and those clanging slot machines — on the Strip, a night (or two, or three) at The Westin Lake Las Vegas is actually a perfect proposal.

Trump International Hotel and Tower

Across from the Fashion Show mall and steps from the Strip, the 64-story Trump International Hotel Las Vegas towers above all nearby buildings with a golden facade reflecting the brand of the Donald J. Trump hotel collection. The vibe: Impeccable style, lifestyles of the well-to-do, service that goes above and beyond What we love: Love him or hate him, you can trust that any resort owned and operated by real estate mogul Donald Trump knows how to deliver the good life. That’s certainly the case at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas. If you want to be treated like a millionaire…or rather a billionaire…then stay here. Unlike most of Sin City’s hotels, Trump International Hotel Las Vegas doesn’t have a casino (something that goes over well with families) and it doesn’t allow smoking (which goes over well with those of us who hate inhaling other people’s cigarette smoke). The staff is awesome. Really they are. And what’s more, the concierge-like Trump Attaché team (doesn’t that name sound like it belongs to some sort of super secret intelligence agency?) can pretty much make whatever Vegas dream you have — within reason, of course — come true. The rooms at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas are incredible. Not only are they spacious (starting at 515 square feet), but the beds are unbelievably comfy and the bathrooms come with jetted spa tubs. Plus, there are kitchen appliances by Wolf, Bosch and Sub-Zero (nicer brands than you have at home). Insider tips: Trump International Hotel Las Vegas doesn’t have a self-parking garage. You have to valet park. That service is free, but a gratuity is expected.  Kids and small dogs are more than welcome here. As part of the Trump Kids program, children get kiddie cocktails, coloring books and other surprises during their stays. And the Trump Pets program gives four-legged guests gourmet treats, bowls with bottled water and plush pet beds. In the resort’s gift store, you can also purchase Trump-monogrammed pet accessories including robes, blankets and slippers. The elevated pool deck features ahh-mazing views of the city and a fabulous setting for soaking up the sun. The only thing that can make it better: A drink. We recommend ordering one of the signature cocktails from the poolside café H2(EAU). If pampering yourself is on your vacation must-do checklist, The Spa at Trump has you covered. It offers everything from gemstone treatments and royal body therapies to hangover cures (like the Vegas Recovery Massage and the Morning After Eye Care). Good to know: Trump International Hotel Las Vegas is situated about a block from train tracks. If you’re someone who’s bothered by train noises (because they do occasionally roll through), you may want to request a room on a higher floor. The resort also sits back about a quarter of a mile from the Strip, so you’ll need to do some walking to get to other major properties and shopping. The restaurant choices at Trump International Hotel Las Vegas are pretty much limited to DJT (take a guess at whose initials those are). But the uneven quality of food and service here doesn’t seem to be on par with the high-end presentation of the rest of the property.

Thunderbird Hotel Las Vegas

Situated in the Arts District — right between the Strip and downtown — Thunderbird Hotel Las Vegas offers comfortable accommodations, a restaurant, a bar and more in a boutique atmosphere. The vibe: Artsy and affordable, modern but not stuffy.  What we love: One word: location.  Thunderbird is located in the heart of the Arts District, between the Las Vegas Strip and downtown’s Fremont Street. If you’re a hipster, art fanatic or anyone who likes the calmer (but still cool) vibe of Las Vegas, this hotel is for you. If you’re familiar with First Friday in Las Vegas, then you already know the Arts District turns into one huge block party filled with thousands of people. And if we want to crash after a night like this, it’s a simple hop, skip and a jump back to the hotel.  Since the Thunderbird is a boutique hotel, your stay is a bit more cozy compared to an enormously large property. Not that we have a problem with that, but if you’re looking for a quick escape from the craziness a boutique-sized hotel is your best bet.  The hotel’s windows are another bonus. If you’re in the mood for fresh air, the windows here open completely.  One more thing: There’s no resort fees. Let’s do our happy dance now and be glad we can use that dough on something else, like the actual Vegas trip.  Insider tips: Use this hotel to your advantage and stay during First Friday. We promise it’s super awesome. Just make sure to check room availability far in advance.  While you’re here, make sure to check out all the cool and funky antique and vintage shops in the Arts District. We’re pretty confident you’ll find a piece or two that nobody else has.  Good to know: Even though you’re in between the Strip and Fremont Street, the walk to either isn’t as close as you think. Even though the Stratosphere Tower is four blocks away (roughly 15 minutes walking distance), it might not be your most comfortable walk, especially in the middle of the summer. Also, if you’re heading to Fremont Street Experience it’s even farther (more than a mile away, about 25 minutes walking distance). Your best bet? Catch a ride or a cab. Since both locations are a short drive, you won’t be paying an arm and a leg.  While the hotel itself doesn’t have a casino attached, the bar has a set of video slots.

Waldorf Astoria

Located at the center of the Strip, Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas is a non-gaming luxury hotel that features deluxe accommodations and amenities for first-class travelers. High-end tranquility meets sleek leisure and superior service. Luxury in abundance. We love all of the simple details that were put into making a stay or a visit to Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas the most enjoyable experience possible. From scented, moist restroom towels that freshen your hands to fresh flowers in the hotel rooms, guests do not feel as though they are being treated like wild college kids on spring break in child-proof rooms, they feel as though they are at home… in a palace. Expect the satisfaction that comes from any service offered in Waldorf Astoria’s indulgent spa. With a full menu of a range of treatments, the deeply relaxing spa offers amenities and services such as body scrubs and massages, Pilates and yoga facilities, and a high-end beauty salon among other offerings. For a sophisticated afternoon, Waldorf Astoria has a tea lounge on the 23rd floor for a relaxing take on an afternoon in Vegas. With The Shops at Crystals nearby, guests are located within walking distance to a variety of other entertainment experiences. When you first walk into Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas, you’ll enter an elevator lobby. Don’t worry though, you’re in the right spot. The main lobby, which is located on the 23rd floor, is just a short elevator ride away. You will see why they decided to set up the lobby on this floor when you catch your first glimpse of the stunning cityscape backdrop. The hotel features 389 rooms and suites and while they are on the pricier side of hotel rooms on the Strip, the quality of the rooms and the service provided by the hotel’s employees is definitely worth the extra money. Everything that you can imagine is provided for you in this luxury hotel except for gaming. However, a huge perk of this is the fact that we love the more relaxed atmosphere in the main areas at any given time and we also don’t have to worry about the cloud of smoke that lingers in every casino.

Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo

Conveniently located next to the I-15 Freeway and situated by the Las Vegas Monorail Station, Hilton Grand Vacations Suites at the Flamingo is ideal for the traveler who loves being on the Strip and appreciates the comfort of luxury living. Located on the grounds of the Flamingo Hotel, right next to Horseshoe Las Vegas, Paris, Caesars and the Bellagio, this hotel is in the middle of all the action. Studios, one and two-bedroom suites have an opportunity to overlook rushing waterfalls, lush tropical gardens and a magnificent swimming complex. Plus, it’s just four miles from McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas Executive Air Terminal and Signature Flight Support. With a variety of attractions around the hotel, you’ll have no problem finding things to do. And if you’ve seen enough of The Strip, check out famous areas like Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Red Rock and the Grand Canyon. The hotel offers a full-service Concierge Staff to make your trip and every visit to Las Vegas an unforgettable experience.

Hampton Inn and Suites Henderson/Saint Rose

Welcome to Hampton Inn & Suites Henderson/Saint Rose, where you can enjoy sophistication and relaxation, or all the non-stop action Las Vegas has to offer. This hotel offers easy access to the Entertainment Capital of the World with its Henderson/South Las Vegas location and quick access to the I-15 and I-215 Freeways. The Las Vegas Strip and both the McCarran International and Henderson Executive Airports are also minutes away. The Las Vegas Strip offers 24-hour nightlife, world-renowned dining, casino action and lots of fun. But when you stay at this hotel, you’ll also enjoy the convenience of attractions like the Lake Mead Recreation Area and the historic Hoover Dam, which are only a short twenty minutes away. You can also experience the same 24-hour action as the Las Vegas Strip, with less of a crowd at the nearby M Resort or Green Valley Ranch. This hotel puts you within reach of Lake Las Vegas, where they host concerts and offer world-class golfing. Discover the other side of Las Vegas at Red Rock Canyon or go hiking, skiing or snowboarding at nearby Mount Charleston. Whether traveling for business or leisure, ask the friendly hotel team for more tips on all the area’s attractions or about the shuttle service. Even if you’re in Henderson-Saint Rose to enjoy the great outdoors, you can enjoy the great indoors as well. The hotel offers a full range of services and amenities to make your stay exceptional.

Palms Casino Resort

The Palms Casino Resort, located just west of the Strip, knows all about style (just take a look at their art collection), and delivers substance with contemporary rooms, a top-notch concert venue, an off-the-charts nightclub, and mouthwatering restaurants. The vibe: Contemporary, artistic, an off-Strip oasis. What we love: The Pearl is one of the best concert venues in town. And the restaurants here are nothing short of spectacular. But what really floats our boat is the art. Globally renowned artists like Damien Hirst, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and Dustin Yellin share spaces with contemporary artists like Adam Parker Smith, Eric Haze, Jason REVOK, Olivia Steele, Dabs Myla, Keegan Gibbs and more. Dope art and a comfy place to stay? Sounds like a win to us.  Insider tips: One of our favorite things about the Palms is that it’s one of the only hotels near the Strip with a movie theatre inside. Brenden Theatres is a 14-theatre Cineplex that includes IMAX and JBX so that you can visit Las Vegas without the fear of missing the midnight premiere of your favorite superhero movie. Good to know: The Palms is located near, but not on the Strip. For those without a car, the distance isn’t walkable thanks to the I-15 and its on- and off-ramps. This means if you don’t have a car, you’ll either have to take taxis or your favorite ridesharing companies.

Tropicana Las Vegas – A Doubletree by Hilton

Blending a south Strip location with a South Beach atmosphere, the Tropicana Las Vegas features moderately priced digs, a great pool for sunbathing and a variety of entertainment. The vibe: Miami meets the Strip. Casually elegant, not exorbitantly priced. What we love: The Tropicana’s pool area is sunny and lush. You’ll see palms trees, waterfalls and lots of grass. As a blast from the past, there’s swim-up blackjack. If you feel like splashing out some money (and catching the eyes of everyone around you), reserve the island cabana. It sits on the corner of one of the busiest intersections on the Strip. With a megaresort on each of the other three corners, everything is right there all around you – accessible with just a short walk. Allegiant Stadium is also only a mile away. And after visiting those places, it feels great to return to the more relaxed, less hectic atmosphere at the Tropicana. Insider tips: You might smell something sweet wafting through the air when you check into the Tropicana or walk through its public areas. This is the resort’s signature scent (yes, there really is such a thing). Take a good whiff of it and let the floral-based aroma transport you to the tropics. Sit on the outdoor deck of the Beach Café, which overlooks the resort’s pool. Have breakfast and wash it down with the “Diablo Beach” Mary cocktail. We also recommend trying the restaurant’s Boutique Breakfast Buffet. Instead of the overwhelming selection found at traditional buffets, this one features a spread that resembles a chef’s table. Good to know: Both room towers involve a good walk, whether you’re going to or from the main entrance or self-parking garage. If you want to be situated near the pool, choose a room in the Club Tower. If you’re more interested in a view of the Strip, opt for the Paradise Tower and upgrade to a high floor.

The Venetian Prestige Club Lounge

The ultimate upgrade to your stay at The Venetian Las Vegas, the Prestige Club Lounge offers everything you know and love about your favorite resort with plenty of added amenities. You’ll have a private concierge and access to an exclusive 5,000 square-foot space located on the 36th floor, perfect for sipping your morning coffee while taking in the gorgeous view of the Las Vegas Strip. The vibe: Over-the-top Italian elegance taken to the next level that offers unparalleled service and sophistication. What we love: The Venetian Prestige Club Lounge is all about the perks, and you’ll be showered with them morning, noon, and night. From the moment you arrive at the private check-in area, you’ll be treated to a complementary beverage at The Prestige Lounge upon arrival. Your daily luxury amenities also include daily breakfast, afternoon coffee and tea services, as well as an evening cocktail reception complete with complimentary cocktails.  Insider tips: Make sure to take advantage of all of the other amazing things the Venetian Las Vegas has to offer like the Grand Canal Shoppes and its central location on the Las Vegas Strip. Good to know: Make sure you come down from your stunning ivory tower to explore the rest of the Venetian Resort. The Venetian and the Palazzo are covered in stunning art and decor that fully immerses you in the romantic vibes of it’s namesake Italian city. There are also plenty of gourmet restaurants, luxury shopping, entertainment, and 10 pools between the two properties for you to enjoy.

Orleans

Located west of the Strip, The Orleans may be far from the French Quarter, but it’s got restaurants and bars that bring to mind the Big Easy as well as a movie theater and bowling alley to amuse all ages. The vibe: Saint City meets Sin City, locals oriented, cheaply priced rooms, multigenerational appeal What we love: While the N’awlins theme may seem corny, The Orleans wears it well. We love the large illuminated masked heads that hang over the casino floor. Also, check out the upside down piano on the ceiling of the Bourbon Street Cabaret. Order hurricanes (and other cocktails) at the Crawfish Bar, Mardi Gras Bar and Alligator Bar. And get freshly shucked oysters served with Creole flair at Big Al’s Oyster Bar. For an off-Strip property, the pool deck at The Orleans is really nice — and totally chill. Tucked in a lushly landscaped courtyard, it has an Olympic-size pool as well as a wading pool, a large hot tub, a spacious sundeck and five cabanas. The good times are always rolling at The Orleans. First off, there’s the Orleans Arena, which hosts about 200 events a year including concerts, sporting events and family shows like Disney on Ice. Then there’s the 850-seat Orleans Showroom, which offers a diverse lineup of musicians and comedians. Live music is always on tap in the resort’s bars and lounges too. Parking is a breeze at The Orleans. If you don’t find a spot in the surrounding surface lots when you pull in, theres a big, easy-to-navigate parking garage behind the property that’s never full. The Orleans has food for all tastes and budgets. Savor a fine dining experience The Prime Rib Loft. Enjoy a mid-range menu at Koji. Or dig into cheap eats at T.G.I. Friday’s, the 24-hour Courtyard Cafe and a food court (home to Vegas only Fuddruckers). Insider tips: Traveling with kids? Parents, when you want some alone time you can drop your young kids (ages 3 – 12) off at Kids Tyme. The professionally supervised facility offers everything from a giant jungle gym and imaginative crafts to a movie room and gaming systems. Find your bliss at Spa Orleans, where you can be pampered with a soothing massage, body wrap or facial that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. If you don’t want to go down to the food court for the “world’s greatest” burgers, Fuddruckers will deliver them to your room…for a small fee, of course. Good to know: The rooms aren’t extravagant but they are generously sized (starting at 450 square feet) and well kept. The base-level deluxe rooms were remodeled in 2012 while the premium rooms were redone in 2014 — so they have contemporary décor and come with flat-screen TVs and coffeemakers. Fridges are available for an additional fee. The Orleans is not located on the Strip. Although less than a mile away (0.8 miles to be exact), the distance isn’t walkable (you’d have to cross a busy freeway entrance and exit). If you don’t have a car, take advantage of the free shuttle service from The Orleans to the Strip at The Forum Shops at Caesars as well as to its sister property, the Gold Coast.

Palace Station

THE VIBE:: Guests of Palace Station will enjoy an extensive array of amenities during their stay as well as a prime location just west of the Las Vegas Strip. This laid-back resort is also conveniently situated next to the I-15.  Built in 1976 on 38 acres and originally opened as “The Casino,” it became Palace Station, the flagship property for the Station Casinos empire, in 1991. Although the resort has undergone various renovations, including a new resort pool and a complete renovation of the casino, restaurants, and all guest rooms in 2018, it’s kept a down-to-earth vibe. WHY WE LOVE IT:: Palace Station is within walking distance of several other restaurants and a short drive from downtown and the Strip — putting guests near the epicenter of all the big happenings in Las Vegas.  Ideal for meetings and special celebrations, Palace Station also features more than 20,000 square feet of event space. It’s equipped with state-of-the-art amenities including projectors, DVD players and other technological devices. Catering and other services are available as well. GOOD TO KNOW:: The rooms and suites at Palace Station are outfitted for comfort, with things like cable TVs, hair dryers and wireless internet access. A fully equipped fitness center, a business center, and a gift shop will also enhance your vacation experience. For quick meals, Palace Station boasts the 24-hour Brass Fork Cafe, Tacos & Tequila, fast food eateries (Wingstop, Panda Express and Starbucks) and room service. The casino floor is always busy at Palace Station. You’ll find plenty of action in the bingo hall, keno lounge, or the race and sports book, which boasts 230 seats and 44 large video screens. There’s numerous table games and more than 1,600 slot and video poker machines. The resort is unique in that it has an Asian table games area, where guests can try their luck at pai gow tiles and both mini and midi baccarat.   The Oyster Bar is an 18-seat, live-action kitchen preparing freshly shucked oysters, steamed clams and homemade seafood pastas. The Oyster Bar has been one of the most popular places to go for fresh seafood since its opening, so go between meal times for shorter wait times.

Main Street Station

For the history buffs and artifact appreciators alike, the Main Street Station Hotel and Casino is a sure bet just steps from the heart of downtown Las Vegas. Set in the splendor of the Victorian era, the ‘70s-built property is home to a 28,000-square-foot casino, more than 400 hotel rooms and a microbrewery on the premises with drink specials that will make you a believer of love at first pint. Upon entry and check-in at the resort, visitors will be captivated by numerous items inside the property. The lobby, which resembles a train depot with long wooden benches, is replete with turn-of-the-century artifacts including vintage coin-operated slot machines – oooo, ahhhh – apothecary cabinets (void of old-timey and most likely poisonous medications) and a pair of pipe organs, all of which add pleasant character to the hotel’s ambiance in a random-antique-combination sort of way. Additionally, in one of the men’s restrooms, a portion of the Berlin wall is stoically perched for a little relief room décor. But perhaps the most prominent artifact within the resort is the striking statue of a wild boar in the center of the resort’s main bar that once stood in a fountain in Nice, France… nice touch, huh? Interested in challenging yourself to a little game of life-sized “I Spy?” Request a map at the front desk to pinpoint even more treasures located throughout the resort. For example, railroad enthusiasts will delight in examining several fully restored train cars placed along the sidewalk directly outside of the resort. To intrigue your curiosity, guests get to view the various cars including the dining compartment, kitchen and sleepers from the opulent Cascade, which was built for a railroad executive in 1897. Also permanently parked at the Main Street are the Pullman cars of the Blackhawk, which used to transport the famed Buffalo Bill Cody and other stars of the “Wild West Show” across America.   Is the history buff inside of you hungry for more? Everywhere you look, something beautiful is sure to catch your eye. The hotel’s interior alone features high ceilings, sprawling columns, ornate bronze doors and intricately-carved woodwork in addition to artful stained glass windows and chandeliers (including one from the Figaro Opera House in Paris) that will leave you breathless. Now, that your history craving is fed, how about satiating that food craving next? The cuisine at Main Street Station is as popular with locals as it is with visitors, thanks to a buffet and microbrewery that perfectly blends modern flavors with a fun dining experience. The Garden Court Buffet offers a wide array of global cuisine that is prepared freshly for guests and visitors to devour breakfast, lunch, dinner and/or a weekend champagne brunch.   In addition to the buffet is the Triple 7 Restaurant and Microbrewery that is always packed and always ready to pour you a cold one (or three!) straight from the brewery’s tap. Here you will find eight to nine handcrafted beers on tap (several of which have won awards), and you can take a gander at the giant copper vats used to create them. The menu includes fresh baked pizzas and pub favorites ranging from burgers to fish and chips. Plus, there’s a special section of the restaurant where sushi and oysters are served. The 28,000-square-foot casino at Main Street Station is a lively area of the hotel brought to life by more than 800 slot and video poker machines, and a wide array of table games. However, if relaxation is what you’re going for, go ahead and lounge poolside at the resort’s quaint outdoor pool. In addition to being charming, Main Street Station is also very conveniently located. Connected via the Bridge Avenue walkway to the California Hotel & Casino and only a block from the famous Fremont Street Experience, all of the downtown excitement is just steps from the hotel’s main entrance. Similarly, visitors can also enjoy other activities, like shopping at the nearby Las Vegas Premium Outlets – North or catching a Broadway production or musical concert at The Smith Center, a new world-class performing arts venue in the heart of our city. Charmingly delightful with a little history, a little play, and a lot of a fun, Main Street Station is ideal for anyone who is looking to experience the excitement of Las Vegas at an affordable price that doesn’t sacrifice a good time.

Park MGM Las Vegas

Smack dab between the center and south end of the Strip, Park MGM combines grand-style architecture with a calm and earthy attitude. The vibe: Lush color schemes paired with earthy elegance, Park MGM instills a sense of serenity with a smidge of European flair. What we love: Park MGM is different from anything you’ll see anywhere else on the Strip.  We are living for their self-check-in kiosks! These kiosks are hassle free and eliminate the lines we all dread when normally checking into a hotel. On average, it takes about three minutes to get everything you need: your room and your keys. Not a techy? No worries, because Park MGM has people on-hand to assist if needed.  Another thing you’ll appreciate is the hotel’s prime location. Everything, including world-class entertainment at T-Mobile Arena and Dolby Live at Park MGM, is walking distance. The hotel even has a free tram that takes you to ARIA, Bellagio, Vdara and The Shops at Crystals. So not only is it in a good location, it can take you to other famous locations on the Strip, too.  Last, but not least, Primrose. This cute, little French-inspired restaurant is sure to steal your heart. They have a gorgeous outdoor patio and a stunning entry way that will inspire your inner home decorator. And the food definitely matches the vanity.   Insider tips: Park MGM definitely paid close attention to detail, like real close. Subtle details flood the insides of Juniper Cocktail Lounge, Bavette’s Steakhouse & Bar, and Best Friend.  First off, Bavette’s isn’t just the perfect place for a savory steak, they also have a speakeasy in the back. To get there, you basically have to walk straight into the back wall where you’ll find a hidden doorway on the right.  Juniper Cocktail Lounge has a jaw-dropping cocktail program. Order the “No Judgement”  and see the top of your drink literally set ablaze. Calling their mixologists “lit” is an understatement.  Oh, don’t think we forgot about the BetMGM Sportsbook and Bar after those fancy fire tricks. This is the best place to grab a quick meal for a super affordable price. Our all-time favorite feature is their weigh and pay menu. If you’re someone who doesn’t like big portions or leftovers, this is made for you. They weigh your food on a scale and you pay for it. It’s that simple. This is the best way to grab just the right amount of food without waste.   Good to know: Eataly is the ultimate in culinary exploration with tons of restaurants and counter-service spots to try. This fantastic spot also offers guests the ability to purchase these premium ingredients to test out their own cooking skills. So go ahead and take a trip to Italy with you tastebuds before bringing home these gourmet meats, cheeses, and sauces to enjoy again later.

Hilton Grand Vacations on Paradise (Convention Center)

Adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center and boasting convenient Monorail Station access, Hilton Grand Vacations Suites – Las Vegas (Convention Center) places you just steps away from the fabulous Las Vegas Strip where shopping and entertainment never stop.  Located less than five miles from McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas Executive Air Terminal, Signature Flight Support and offering easy access to nearby shopping, like the world-renowned Fashion Show Mall, this is the perfect destination for even the pickiest Las Vegas visitor.  Guests of this non-gaming hotel will enjoy well-appointed studios and single or multi-bedroom suites with views of the Las Vegas Country Club golf course and the Las Vegas Strip. Whether you’re in town for business or pleasure, wireless Internet is complimentary for all guests. Should you require more space, meeting rooms are available for team breakout sessions, small groups or even private dinners. And when you’re ready to relieve some stress, enjoy a workout at the on-site fitness center or take a dip in the pool.

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas

A luxury resort located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, the Venetian offers all-suite accommodations, exquisite restaurants, world-class entertainment, and shopping. Their elegant suites range in size from 650 to 720-square-feet that are nearly double the size of the average Las Vegas hotel room. The vibe: Over-the-top Italian elegance, abounding amore, luxury and service reign supreme What we love: At The Venetian Resort Las Vegas, the world is at your belly. You can eat like a paesano at restaurants operated by Buddy Valastro and Wolfgang Puck – and drink like one too because wine is plentiful. Or savor other cuisines including South American fare from Lorena Garcia. All of the rooms in The Venetian are suites. Our fave things about The Venetian’s suites: the foyers (we just love saying that word), sunken living rooms and marble bathrooms with large Roman tubs (the true thrones of emperors). Insider tips: Speaking of The Venetian’s “spread out-ness,” if you want to bypass the casino to get to the Grand Canal Shoppes, you can enter right off Las Vegas Boulevard. There’s access through a hallway that passes by the Rockhouse bar, Buddy V’s and Carlo’s Bakery, where you should stop and get a pastry. Now there are more outstanding restaurants in The Venetian than fingers on our hands, but we’re singling out Bouchon because you might not see it while wandering around the casino floor. It’s located in the resort’s exclusive Venezia Tower. You’ll have to take the elevator near the front desk to the 10th floor. When you get off, you’ll see an opulent lobby in one direction and Bouchon’s little known entrance in the other. Good to know: Although the plaza in front of The Venetian is beautiful, reminiscent of St. Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace, pay attention to vehicles coming in and out of the resort via the Strip. The Venetian’s outside is just as gorgeous as its interior, so naturally your gnat-like attention span is going to be focused on all of the great art and decor that surround the resort’s exterior and not the busy boulevard that lies mere steps away. Keep your heads up people, that’s all we’re sayin’.  If you like pools (it’s 100+ degrees here, so we’re going to make that assumption), you’re going to love The Venetian and The Palazzo. There are 10 pools between the two properties, so there’s plenty of opportunity for you to get down on some “Marco Polo.” Just be sure to keep your flip-flops on deck (see what we did there?), because remember that weather we mentioned earlier? If you’re not prepared, that heat will burn your little footsies and put a damper on your pool hoppin’ plans STAT.

Crockfords Las Vegas at Resorts World

Dubbed one of the most luxurious resorts on the Strip, Crockfords offers guests an exclusive and personalized experience perfectly curated to satisfy their high-class visitors.  The vibe: Opulent, luxurious, and designed to satisfy even the most discerning of clientele. What we love: The best part about staying at the Crockfords is that this resort knows how to make every guest feel like a VIP. An exclusive entrance ushering you into their opulent lobby is only the beginning of your personalized lap of luxury experience. This resort only has 236 rooms throughout the entire tower, so you know each one is going to be absolutely breathtaking. The hidden estate-style Palaces and Villas even include lush greenery and perfectly curated artwork. Insider tips: For a fantastic night out that’s dripping in elegant style, Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge harkens back to the days of flapper girls and speakeasies with a distinctively vintage flair. Large plush couches and dangling orbs set the scene for visitors to enjoy a wide range of perfectly curated libations that include high-quality champagnes, one-of-a-kind cocktails, and seasonal drinks served in classy, crystal tumblers for some added glamour.  Good to know: As the most exclusive of the three Resorts World towers, most of their entertainment venues and dining are located outside of the Crockfords tower. The bonus of this is that this affluent resort has both a private pool and spa for the ultimate luxurious afternoon away from the usual crowds.

Luxor

You can’t miss Luxor, the giant glass pyramid at the south end of the Strip. It’s home to artifacts from the Titanic and a giant sphinx statue. The vibe: King Tut at the disco, a mid-range themed hotel, family-friendly without being a circus. What we love: It’s a freakin’ pyramid. From the bat-attracting megawatt light on top to the sphinx out front, we love the Egyptian touches — especially now that the kitschy décor has been dialed back from what the resort opened with in 1993. Luxor routinely offers some of the more affordable hotel rates on the Strip and the property is packed with things to do (the HyperX ESports Arena is our favorite). It won’t break your budget, but you won’t feel like you’re staying in a budget hotel. Luxor has a large pool (and we’re not just talking about the massive 125,650-square-foot deck). Their 19,000 square feet of sparkling water is bigger than the postage stamp-sized vanity pools you see at some resorts. Our only sadness is that it’s closed seasonally from fall to spring. Insider tips: Enclosed, and more importantly, air-conditioned corridors connect the Luxor to Mandalay Bay and Excalibur so you’ll never need to step outdoors in 100-degree weather. Good to know: The pyramid rooms have the added bonus that you get to ride an inclinator (a 39-degree angled elevator) to your room. Mark that off the bucket list. Pyramid rooms also open directly onto hallways that overlook the pyramid’s atrium. Rooms on higher floors have a great view and also less noise. Keep in mind: All of the rooms are non-smoking. Guests who smoke in any room will have to pay a $300 cleaning fee upon checkout. Save yourself some money and smoke in designated areas like the casino.  Want a cup of coffee in the morning? The Luxor, like many Las Vegas hotels, has eliminated coffee pots in their standard rooms. So if you need a java infusion in the a.m. head to the Starbucks located near the hotel lobby. Luxor has a massive casino (even by Vegas standards) so it’s easy to get turned around. Just remember that while this is a pyramid, the bottom is a square (finally high school geometry pays off). If you get lost, head to the edge and follow it around. All the restaurants and the check-in desk are along the perimeter, with a food court) on the second level. At the center beneath the pyramid’s apex is the casino. What shows and concerts are playing at the Luxor?: Shows playing at Luxor include: Fantasy, Blue Man Group, America’s Got Talent Live, and Carrot Top. What is there to do at the Luxor? : Bodies… The Exhibition takes an in-depth look at the human body while Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition examines the ocean liner’s fatal trip and HyperX Esports Arena immerses you in a gamer’s paradise. What makes the Luxor unique?: The pyramid-shaped Luxor gets its name from a city in Egypt along the Nile River. The pyramid has become a Vegas skyline staple for its unique shape.

Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World

The Conrad Tower at Resorts World focuses on bringing guests high-quality comfort through luxurious contemporary style and state-of-the-art technology. The vibe: Luxurious, expansive, and perfectly personalized for each guests individual needs.  What we love: When you walk through the swooshing doors of the Conrad Las Vegas, the whole resort screams modern luxury. From the dozens of decorative LED screens throughout the property to the sleek room designs, this resort is easily one of the trendiest new spots on the Strip.  Insider tips: It’s a big world out there, so make sure you set aside some time to explore the massive, 88-acre Resorts World Complex. A broad spectrum of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options await. Good to know: As the most modern of the three Hilton towers, The Conrad is the spot for unique nightlife experiences. Slip into your sexiest club attire and head over to the most technologically advanced nightclub on the Strip, Zouk. Created by one of the hottest nightlife companies in Singapore, their namesake club has been ranked Asia’s Best Club since 2017, and they aren’t pulling any punches for their Las Vegas debut. This includes state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, a gourmet food court, and A-list celebrity DJs.  FUHU is another experimental affair that delivers delicious Chinese cuisine in tandem with a “vibe dining” experience. What does vibe dining entail, you ask? Well, you’ll have to make a reservation to find out.

Golden Nugget

With its abundant accommodations, shark-filled pool and popular restaurants is a hotel rich on comfort and fun in downtown Las Vegas. The vibe: Classic Vegas elegance, upscale but not out of reach, ample choices for everyone What we love: Located in the heart of downtown, the Golden Nugget offers classic Vegas luxury at a reasonable price. From the elegant marble lobby to a collection of contemporary restaurants capable of satisfying every craving, The Golden Nugget offers everything you need in a great location where you can literally step outside and right into the eye-popping sights and rockin’ sounds of Fremont Street Experience. We can say with complete confidence there’s no other hotel pool in town like The Tank. Not only does this outdoor complex have a lush setting with two cascading waterfalls, but there’s a 200,000-gallon aquarium filled with sharks and a three-story water slide will take you right through the center of it. The Golden Nugget’s buffet is the best in downtown. It’s a step up from the competition geographically because it’s located on the second floor (where you’ll have a great view of the pool if you sit near the windows). Our favorite time to go is on Friday and Saturday nights for the seafood spread, which includes crab legs, fresh shrimp, sushi and lobster mac ‘n’ cheese.   Insider tips: Check out the biggest gold nugget in existence at the Golden Nugget. You’ll discover the 61-pound Hand of Faith just off the casino floor near the room elevators. It was discovered in Australia in 1980 and also has the honor of being the biggest nugget ever found with a metal detector. If aquariums are your thing, enjoy a meal or just a cocktail in the Chart House seafood restaurant. The dining room and bar wrap around a 75,000-gallon aquarium filled with more than 1,000 colorful fish, including a moray eel that looks like a scary sea serpent. Trust us, you won’t be able to take your eyes off it (and in the interest of self-preservation, you shouldn’t). One more thing we can’t forget: The Golden Nugget has a Starbucks fronting Fremont Street with an outdoor patio. Get your caffeine fix here 24 hours a day. There’s a second location of Starbucks inside the Carson Tower; however, this one isn’t open around the clock. Good to know: For a VIP-level experience, book a room in the Rush Tower. Opened in 2009, the accommodations here are as good as gold with soaking tubs, premium linens, and leather sofas. If noise is an issue and you’re not in Vegas to party, request a room on the hotel’s south side — in other words, not facing Fremont Street Experience, where there’s a stage and music plays until the wee hours. There are two valets at the Golden Nugget. If you’re staying in the main hotel, use the valet off Casino Center Boulevard. If you’re staying in the Rush Tower, head to the one on Carson Avenue near First Street. Valet parking is $15 per day. The self-parking garage is located off First Street near Bridger Avenue. It’s complimentary to hotel guests. Anyone patronizing the Golden Nugget can also park there and get three hours free with validation — otherwise you’ll have to pay an hourly rate.

Embassy Suites by Hilton Convention Center Las Vegas

But if you’re here for work, check out the 24-hour BusinessLink business center offers convenient professional amenities and services. Whatever you need, Embassy Suites by Hilton Convention Center Las Vegas has it.

Circa Resort & Casino – Adults Only

A brand new addition to the Downtown Las Vegas skyline, the Circa Resort features the cities best sports experiences shrouded in retro facades that create the ultimate blend of vintage Vegas and cutting-edge technology. The vibe: Sports obsessed, technologically state-of-the-art and wonderfully nostalgic to perfectly mimic the surrounding iconic hotels. What we love: Circa has plenty of impressive amenities under their neon-lit roof. But the Stadium Swim is more than just your typical pool; it’s a technological phenomenon you’ll have to experience to believe.  Six pools and two spas that all vary in temperature from a refreshing 78 to a soothing 94 degrees Fahrenheit are split into this three-story complex. Between each swimming hole is an array of chaise lounges, cabanas, and day beds that all point towards the jaw-dropping heart of this aquatic amphitheater.  Towering in at 40-feet tall and stretching 135-feet across is the Circa’s 14-million-megapixel LED screen that’ll be featuring the most popular sporting events in the world as well as all of your favorite local team games. If you’re not drooling yet at the idea of this sports fan’s dream come true, then get ready to hear about the food. Gourmet variations of sports bar favorites created by famed Michigan restauranteurs will be served poolside along with two swim-up bars for indulging in the finest of liquid libations. Insider tips: For sports-betting fans, the Circa’s sportsbook is here to fulfill your every wish. Filling three full stories with luxury stadium seating, bar top gaming, private boxes and a gigantic 78-million-pixel screen that plays multiple games at once so you’ll never have to miss a minute of your favorite sport.  If you’re new to the sports bet world, the Circa even teaches you a thing or two by hosting the Vegas States and Information Network that broadcasts daily tips, tricks and in-depth analysis from a wide range of experts. Good to know: Usually, a parking garage is nothing to write home about. But Circa’s Garage Mahal has turned the task of parking into a mini art gallery tour by featuring a rotating selection of art installations on large video screens. Garage Mahal is the only place in Vegas where you won’t mind having to wait for a spot.  We also recommend stopping by Vegas Vickie’s bar to say hello to the iconic neon cowgirl in her new home back on historic Fremont Street, right where she belongs. **The Circa Resort is for adults only, no one under the age of 21 is permitted inside of the resort**

Caesars Palace

With a history as epic as the real Roman Empire, Caesars Palace rules over the center Strip with a wide range of rooms, The Colosseum and a mighty roster of Las Vegas restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The vibe: Vegas glitz with a Greco-Roman take, meandering layout, celebrity-driven offerings What we love: Caesars Palace has been around since 1966 and we admire this Las Vegas hotel for its ability to change with the times. By constantly modernizing — from adding new Las Vegas restaurants and the world’s first-ever Nobu Hotel to bringing in star performers like Jerry Seinfeld and Reba, Brooks & Dunn and shows like the circus-style burlesque “Absinthe” – this empire shows no signs of decline. The Bacchanal Buffet does for a Vegas buffet what The Forum Shops at Caesars did to shopping – it elevates the experience (and we’re grateful for that). With a mind-blowing array of delectable dishes prepared by a team of chefs, you’ll discover small plates with things like fried chicken and waffles, red velvet pancakes and mini Wagyu sliders. Cleopatra’s Barge has been a lively nightspot since it opened in 1970. What could be cooler than partying on this floating barge? When people get down on the dance floor it bobs around.  Insider tips: Speaking of walking, make sure you valet park at the hotel’s main entrance when you arrive to check-in because the distance from the parking garage to the registration desk feels like a hike to Rome. Spend an afternoon at Qua Baths & Spa. Now there are too many treatments on the menu for us to suggest just one, but what we love is that as part of your visit you’ll have access to the idyllic Roman baths, a laconium room, a tea lounge with a tea sommelier (who knew that existed?) and an Arctic ice room where – we kid you not – it snows. (You’ll thank us for sending you here during the 100-plus-degree summer months.) Good to know: Navigating the ground floor of Caesars Palace – considering everything the resort has to offer and its winding layout – is a challenge. Hopefully, you’ve been doing some endurance training… just kidding, but be prepared to walk a lot. And because this place is so big, expect waits during peak times for checking in or out as well as for staff to get to your room if you should need something cleaned or fixed. There is valet and self-parking. Rates vary, so click here for details.

Fairfield Inn Las Vegas Convention Center

Located near McCarran International Airport, Fairfield Inn Las Vegas Convention Center is the perfect location for business travelers and casual guests alike. This hotel offers free parking, a sparkling pool and a free breakfast buffet every morning to start your day off right. Fairfield Inn is close to the Strip, the Sands Expo, and the Las Vegas Convention Center. Although not on the Strip, you’re close enough to Uber everywhere and it won’t be expensive. If you need space for meetings, the hotel offers two small meeting rooms. As for the hotel rooms, they are quaint and comfy, and offer amenities that will make your stay more enjoyable.  There’s nothing you can’t find at this hotel. Fairfield Inn Las Vegas Convention Center is convenient for any Vegas visitor.

Residence Inn by Marriott Las Vegas Convention Center

Just behind the Strip, Residence Inn Las Vegas Convention Center is a hop, skip and jump from all the action.  At this hotel, you’ll have the comfort of being at home, but have the luxuries of being on vacation. The rooms come with fully-equipped kitchens and a spacious living room to kick up your feet at the end of a long day. The hotel has an outdoor pool, a gym and hosts a social event that provides free food and drinks Monday – Wednesday. So if you’re traveling solo, make sure to take advantage of that program and meet some new friends to go on adventures with. In the mornings, they offer a free breakfast buffet that will fill you up and give you energy for the day. If you’re here on business, you can take advantage of the three meeting rooms and the fact that you’re very close to the Sands Expo and Las Vegas Convention Center. But if you’re here for fun, you’ll be able to Uber to the Strip without paying an arm and a leg.  Residence Inn Las Vegas Convention Center is your perfect vacation getaway.

Downtowner Boutique Hotel

The Downtowner Boutique Hotel is a no-frills a quick walk from Fremont Street Experience, Fremont East’s bars and restaurants, El Cortez and Container Park. The remodeled two-story motel includes an outdoor pool and complimentary parking, in front of your room. The vibe: Traditional motel in the heart of downtown Las Vegas.  What we love: If you love the vibe of downtown Las Vegas, you can’t really beat the location – especially if you’re here for the annual “Life is Beautiful” festival. You can watch your favorite band, scope out the local art scene, enjoy some brewskis and food, all within steps from your motel.  Parking — especially during the weekend of “Life is Beautiful” — gets pricey, so it’s helpful you’re already here. And if you’re a fan the downtown bar scene as much as we are, you’re only a hop, skip and a jump from Commonwealth, Beauty Bar and Gold Spike.  Oh, and the cost per night at Downtowner Boutique Hotel is probably less than most hotel resort fees alone. Insider tips: Got the munchies? Head to The Market, located between 6th and 7 Streets. It offers groceries, fresh produce, coffee, pastries, craft beer and wine, as well as a café.  Sticking around for a while? The nearby Mint Locker offers round-the-clock laundry service.  Good to know: This motel offers basic amenities. It’s geared toward bargain hunters looking for somewhere to crash. It has a bed, standard-sized TV and a bathroom with a shower.  If you want to take a dip in the motel’s pool, you have to walk across the street to access it. The motel lobby is 24 hours and offers vending machines, so be sure to grab a drink to stay hydrated.    This is an older property, so the walls are a bit thin. You might want to pack a pair of earplugs. Also, if you don’t want to lug your suitcases upstairs, we suggest staying on the bottom level.  Also keep in mind, this motel doesn’t allow locals to book here, but if you’re from out of town it’s a great spot to stay to save some cash.

Oasis at Gold Spike

With an ideal location close to all of the action in downtown Las Vegas, Oasis at Gold Spike offers basic, comfortable rooms, a 24-hour restaurant and bar and a round-the-clock fun atmosphere. The vibe: Hip, young, cool and retro. What we love: The folks at Oasis at Gold Spike know how to have fun. There’s a main bar that’s open 24 hours and the smaller Carnival Bar where you can test your carnival game skills while throwing back a cocktail. Sensing a theme? It continues in the Backyard where you’ll find games like oversized Jenga and chess, ping pong and beer pong. The Living Room inside also has pool tables and oversized cornhole. Oasis at Gold Spike has one of the few pools in the downtown area. The hotel’s retro-looking pool area located in the hotel’s courtyard, features comfortable daybeds and poolside food and cocktail service. Want to enjoy a good book on vacation? The Oasis has a library full of about 100 books on business and entrepreneurship that you can look through or borrow. There’s also a vinyl library with more than 100 records from the ’70s and ’80s. You can browse and play what you want or bring your own vinyl. Insider tips: Dogs are welcome at the Oasis at Gold Spike and if you want your furry friend to have as fun of a vacation as you’re having, you can get a discounted rate at the Hydrant Club, an urban dog park near the hotel where your dog can play with other pups. Want to explore the downtown area? Do it on a bike. The hotel rents out some cool tricked out cruisers complete with cup holders and coolers.  Good to know: If you’re a light sleeper, this may not be the hotel for you. There’s always a lot of action going on at the Gold Spike with a pool, DJs, live entertainment and fun games outside. Since the Oasis was originally designed as a motel, the room doors open onto an exterior corridor that overlooks all that pool action. That means things can stay loud well into the late night hours. Great if you are ready to party on your vacation, but probably not the right fit for you if you’re not into the party vibe. The rooms at Oasis at Gold Spike are called “crash pads” and they really are mainly a place to crash. While they are clean, have comfortable beds, private bathrooms and an urban chic decor, they are not loaded with the amenities that you would find at some of the Strip’s megaresorts. The hotel has all of the conveniences you’ll need but the rooms don’t have things like phones or alarm clocks in them. You can request them from the front desk, but they are not in your room. Also we suggest choosing the Ultimate Crash Pad room. During  the Oasis remodel, they combined two rooms to create these ultimate rooms. The Ultimate Crash Pad has a bit of extra space and a cool seating area.

Hampton Inn and Suites Las Vegas/ West Summerlin

Welcome to Hampton Inn & Suites, where fresh air and tranquility are right at your doorstep. Want a break from the action of the Las Vegas Strip, but still want easy access to all the fun? Stay at this hotel in the West Summerlin area. Enjoy all the action of the “Entertainment Capital of the World,” then relax at the newly built Hampton Inn & Suites hotel in Las Vegas-Red Rock/Summerlin, NV. The hotel is located just eight miles west of the Strip and just a few minutes from McCarran International Airport. Aside from the famous Strip casinos, you’ll enjoy easy access to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the Las Vegas Sports Park-both just minutes from the hotel in the Red Rock/Summerlin area. You can also experience the same 24-hour action as the famous casinos, but in a more relaxed area around the Red Rock, Rampart or Suncoast casinos. This hotel also puts you within reach of numerous golf courses and shopping malls. Discover the other side of Las Vegas at the Lake Mead Recreation Area, Red Rock Canyon or nearby Mount Charleston.

Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort

Just a short drive west of the Las Vegas Strip on Flamingo Road between Decatur and Jones boulevards, Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort offers guests the opportunity to have all the comforts of a fully furnished home during their stay in Sin City. Accommodations consist of one- and two-bedroom villas ranging in size from 519 to 971 square feet. With space for four to eight people, they are ideal for families or small groups. Each villa comes with a queen-sized sleeper sofa, a fireplace, a dining table and a kitchen stocked with all the necessary appliances, utensils and dishes. Some villas include a washer/dryer set. Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort is pet-friendly and boasts other amenities like a heated pool, a hot tub, laundry rooms and a small business center. There are recreational facilities including a fitness room, a basketball court, putting greens, a shuffleboard court, a children’s playground, a ping-pong table and a horseshoe pit. Guests can also purchase convenience items at a small on-site sundries shop.  During a stay at Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort, you’ll feel like you’re at home while still being in the vicinity of Vegas’ famous attractions, nonstop gaming action, cool nightclubs and world-class dining and shopping scene.

The Palazzo at The Venetian

Refinement doesn’t mean having less, it means having more of the things you want in a gorgeously designed package. The Palazzo tower is the perfect blend of classic Italian luxury and modern taste that features all-suite accomodations, exquisite restaurants, world-class entertainment and shopping. The suite sizes range from 650 to 720-square-feet that are nearly double the size of the average Las Vegas hotel room. The vibe: Intimate, Italian elegance, exclusive but not intimidating What we love: The Palazzo at The Venetian is kind of like The Venetian on steroids. The hotel takes what you like about The Venetian and makes it even better. It’s easier to get around, the rooms are larger and the restaurants are even more upscale. Plus it’s like hitting the bonus jackpot on the slot machines when you stay here because it’s connected to The Venetian. Anything you don’t find at The Palazzo is just steps away at The Venetian, from Canyon Ranch Spa + fitness to dozens more restaurants, gondola rides, the massive Tao nightclub and even more shopping. The hotel’s five-acre pool deck is also merged with The Venetian’s, which makes for one big playground. In total, there are 11 different pools, four hot tubs and 41 cabanas. Hotel rooms aren’t known for being spacious. You’re usually tripping over your suitcases as you squeeze your way into a closet-sized bathroom. Not so at The Palazzo. These standard rooms, which are all suites, are a whopping 720 square feet. That’s bigger than your one-bedroom apartment. The bathroom alone is 130 square feet. If you need us, we’ll be soaking in the Roman tub watching TV on the flat-screen. The restaurants at The Palazzo are from the who’s who of the culinary world. Take Cut by illustrious chef, Wolfgang Puck. This stylish steakhouse offers cutting-edge interior design and a sophisticated menu of the finest prime beef. There’s also the applewood smoked Peking Duck at Mott32 that takes 48 hours to prepare, so we definitely recommend ordering it in advance. The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian | The 875,000-square-foot Grand Canal-themed mall flows from the indoor canal at The Venetian all of the way to the Waterfall Atrium at The Palazzo and presents shopaholics with a lineup of 160 upscale fashion, jewelry and lifestyle stores. Speaking of the Waterfall Atrium, be sure to check out the cascading two-story waterfall with flowers and plants that changes with the seasons. Insider tips: To truly capitalize on The Palazzo at The Venetian’s luxury, you’ll want to stay in the Prestige Suites — the exclusive concierge level on the 23rd floor. You’ll feel like a high roller as you enjoy champagne at check-in, afternoon tea, personal concierge assistance and more. Any time you’re visiting the Palazzo or Venetian, we recommend parking at the Palazzo. The underground garage is easy to get into and is seldom crowded. There are several different elevators leading to the hotel. If you’re checking in, look for the one labeled “lobby.” There’s also an elevator that leads directly to the casino and one that’s close to the showroom. Good to know: The Venetian and The Palazzo at The Venetian are connected to The Venetian Convention Center & Expo, which has 2.25 million square feet of exhibition space. That means when there’s a big convention there will also be heavy traffic, crowded restaurants and sold-out shows. You might want to plan your visit during a time when there isn’t a big convention in town. If you are at the hotel during a big convention, just be aware that there will be lines, make your reservations early to avoid waiting in long lines. As we mentioned, the dining options at Palazzo are amazing, but they are also high-end. You won’t find fast food, a buffet or a 24-hour coffee shop here, but you can find quick bites and food court options right next door at The Venetian or in the mall area. It’s the best of both worlds. While the Palazzo has some great bars, if it’s the crazy Vegas nightclub experience you’re looking for, you’ll need to walk over to Tao at The Venetian.

The Cromwell

With an idyllic location at the center of the Strip, The Cromwell blends sexiness with chic style while offering a round-the-clock party atmosphere and the first restaurant by chef and Food Network TV star Giada De Laurentiis. The vibe: Boutique hotel sensibilities, a party place with an haute attitude, classy food and mixology. What we love: The song “Party All the Time” is a fitting encapsulation of the spirit here. Along with Drai’s Beachclub & Drai’s Nightclub high above, there’s also Drai’s After Hours below ground. So if you stay here, at least in summertime, you can party continuously all day without ever leaving the resort. The Cromwell may only have one formal restaurant, but it’s an absolute gem. Featuring De Laurentiis’ Italy-meets-California cuisine, Giada is definitely a palate pleaser. When you walk in, you’ll see an antipasti bar, pizza ovens and a station where pasta is rolled. Just be sure to save room for the lemon ricotta cookies. Insider tips: When you eat at Giada, we recommend you request a table by the windows. You may have to wait a while, but it’ll be worth it. Located on the second floor, the restaurant has remote-controlled hydraulic opening windows that wrap around the perimeter and showcase beautiful views of the Strip and Fountains of Bellagio. And if the dayclub scene isn’t your thing, you’re welcome to use both the Flamingo and Caesars Palace pools (with a valid room key). Take a moment to appreciate the beautiful and historically significant décor in the casino. Several eye-catching red chandeliers are hung along the ceiling of the main walkway on the gaming floor. They’ve been refurbished and were part of Barbary Coast when it originally opened in this building in 1979. Good to know: If noise is an issue, you may want a room located in the middle of the building (such as the fourth through sixth floors). This will help reduce street sounds from the Strip as well as the booming bass from the music playing on the rooftop in Drai’s Nightclub. Parking at The Cromwell is best accessed directly off Flamingo Road, between Las Vegas Boulevard and LINQ Lane. Be aware that even as a guest of the hotel, you may have to wait in line to get into Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub… and that line can sometimes be l-o-n-g. The good thing: When you get up front you won’t have to pay an admission charge to enter… as long as it’s not a holiday weekend and there are no special artists or concerts scheduled (then you will be charged).  There is valet and self-parking. Rates vary, so click here for details.

ARIA Resort & Casino

Sporting magnificent modern architecture and top-tier dining, entertainment, pool and spa options, ARIA stands tall as a hip resort in the heart of the Strip. The vibe: Modern, gleaming and chic. Luxury on all levels What we love: ARIA Las Vegas opened at the end of 2009 and it still has that new car smell. The rooms are a tech lover’s dream, featuring the latest gadgetry (keyless locks, personalized automation, etc.). Each room includes an in-room tablet where you’ll have one-touch control of lighting, temperature, draperies, music, in-room dining and more. Simply put, you’re the master of your domain at ARIA Las Vegas. Open year-round, the pool area at ARIA is like something out of the Garden of Eden. Three ellipse-shaped pools are spread across a palm tree-laden deck. Insider tips: Be an art lover. ARIA’s got an impressive fine art collection, and you don’t have to pay a museum admission cost to view it. Several pieces dot the property’s indoor and outdoor public spaces. So spend the day exploring, it’s totally worth it. Spend an afternoon at ARIA’s Spa & Salon. There are some seriously unique amenities in here including a Shio salt room (its salt-infused air improves both your breathing and skin) and Ganbanyoku heated stone beds, which are unbelievably soothing to your muscles. Good to know: There isn’t a bad room in the house. Since the price point is elevated here, why not just go all out and upgrade to one of the Sky Suites? With the one-bedroom penthouse, not only will you get postcard-worthy views and more flat-screen TVs than you’d find in an electronics store, but you’ll enjoy extras like limousine transport from the airport, a personal concierge and access to the private Sky Suites Lounge, where you can indulge in drinks (yes, this includes alcohol) and snacks all day and night long. If you’re thinking of smoking in your room at ARIA, don’t. At checkout, you might find you’ve been hit with a $500-$1000 smoking restoration fee. Be aware that most of the resort’s rooms (98 percent of them, only a few high roller suites have been exempted) are nonsmoking, so the only places you’ll be able to light up are on the casino floor or in various bars. Parking at ARIA seems more confusing than it really is. The only way to access this garage is by turning off the Strip onto Aria Place. Follow the signs (there is no light) as these will indicate where the left turnoff is to a long ramp that goes down into the garage. This feels trickier than it is because you don’t actually see the garage they guide you towards.  We also just want to add that ARIA is set way back from the Strip. Of course, most Vegas Strip resorts involve a walk to reach Las Vegas Boulevard, but this is one of the longer ones. To get to the Strip, you’ll have to go through The Shops at Crystals or walk along a series of shops parallel to City Center Place and take a pedestrian bridge across to The Shops at Crystals. Think of it as your workout to burn off those buffet calories.
