We’re always getting lost in their dreamy eyes. More than mouthwatering men, Black Magic Live boasts some serious credentials. Mat Franco- Magic Reinvented Nightly
The world fell in love with him and his magic on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” and now we’re claiming Mat Franco as our own with his headlining magic show at The LINQ. Winner of season nine, this guy has already proven that he has the mojo to wow a massive audience with his sleight of hand and out-of-this-world magic. Oh, and his charisma just cranks it all up to 11ƒ. Performed in an intimate showroom, we love that we can get right up close to the stage to see if we can figure him out. And we’re happy to say we have – he’s obviously a wizard. He will, however, teach you one trick during the show that’ll make you want to slap your forehead, but you’ll still be dumbfounded for the remaining 85 minutes of magic. Like, c’mon… how does he get the phone in the audience booth?! Or the playing card in the Ramen package? Scratching your head too? Well we’ll probably never know the methods to his magic but Mat does let us in on some personal stories. He takes a moment to explain how his love for magic all began and believe us when we say, you’ll be hanging on his every word. It’s pretty cool and definitely unforgettable. See Franco’s magic unfold before your own eyes and then report back to us. Maybe you’ll be the first to figure out the mystery behind his magic. So what are other people saying about Mat Franco? Los Angeles Times says “the magician changing the game” for his acclaimed production. The immersive live show, which Forbes has called “the tops in town” on its list of “The 5 Best Shows To See In Las Vegas Right Now,” leaves audiences awe-struck and amazed with unique feats of illusion “that captivate audience members from 8 to 80,” according to Parade.com.
Murray The Magician
With his wild, electric blond hair, Murray is hard to miss. Some 22 million viewers nationwide watched the charismatic magician perform as a semifinalist on the NBC hit show “America’s Got Talent.” He did the largest magic trick ever performed on the show by making a 1918 steam train locomotive vanish in mere seconds. Now you can see Murray perform live on the Vegas stage. Murray is well known for his larger-than-life illusions, such as making a Ferrari appear from thin air and transforming a showgirl into a 450-pound tiger. With a knack for keeping his audience entranced with amazement, his show gives his onlookers a uniquely immersive experience. During the show he performs two of his signature illusions in the middle of the audience, giving them an intrusive 360-degree view of him and his tricks while leaving no hiding space. Even when he’s on stage, the showroom makes everyone feel like they are up close to Murray and his mind-blowing magic. Aside from “America’s Got Talent,” Murray has been featured in various other TV shows. He has guest starred as a magic expert on the History Channel’s hit TV series “Pawn Stars.” His other TV credits include VH1’s “Celebracadabra” and “Tough Love,” Comedy Central’s “Reno 911,” NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and Fox’s “Celebrity Blind Date.”

Mac King Comedy Magic Show
Without a doubt, Mac King is the funniest and now, longest-running magician in Las Vegas. He’ll hold you spellbound, while you hold your gut from laughing at his family friendly humor. King’s self-effacing sense of humor, blended with his flawless sleight-of-hand and superbly corny imagination, elevate him to the top of his craft. Plus, his unique combination of endearing Southern charm and offbeat showmanship never fails to produce mesmerizing tricks and a giggling audience. King’s repertoire includes rope tricks, hand shadow puppets, mysterious appearances of Fig Newtons, live animals (i.e., a worm, a goldfish and his newest addition of Colonel Sanders, his white guinea pig) and a gold lamé cape specially designed for his ever-realistic (well actually not at all realistic but definitely funny) impersonations of Elvis and Liberace. Although appearing to be incompetent, King is truly adept in both his magic and people skills. That’s what makes it possible for him to feature so much audience participation. A veritable parade of volunteers steps onstage each afternoon, providing immediate, awestruck reactions to his tricks. Our insider tip to you if you want to better your chances of being selected to join Mac onstage: Be outgoing, expressive and sitting in the first several rows. His showroom has traditional chair seating in the front and a few rows of spacious booths in the back – all of which offer clear views of the stage. Except for lighting and music, King makes little use of technology and has no ingeniously engineered props. Everything in his show seems ordinary…but then remarkably exceeds your expectations under impossible circumstances.

David Blaine
The original televised street magician and extreme stunt performer David Blaine is bringing his first-ever Las Vegas residency to the Resorts World Theatre! David Blaine became a household name when his TV special David Blaine: Street Magic premiered in 1997. The production was said to ‘break new ground’ by Penn & Teller, and it paved the way for other magicians like Michael Carbonaro. Blaine moved into the extreme stunts as his career moved forward, with his first major televised feat being in 1999 with he was buried alive for seven days inside a plastic box under a 3-ton, water-filled tank. Other notable stunts include being completely submerged in water for seven days, suspended in a plexiglass box for 44 days with no food, and being encased in a block of ice for over 63 hours. His residency at Resorts World highlights both his artistry of illusions and his limit-pushing stunts for the ultimate live David Blaine experience.
David Copperfield
It’s David freakin’ Copperfield. Need we say more? We really don’t but since we love talking about this world-famous magician who just so happens to be our neighbor, we’ll go on and brag about him and his show anyway. The perfect combo of nostalgia, magic and showmanship, master illusionist David Copperfield continues to wow us time and again. Trust us, we’ve been about 17 times and still can’t figure out how he teleports. Seriously, how does he do that?! Anyway, moving on. This show is just mystifying enough to make you believe in the supernatural, while also making you feel like a crazy person for considering whether or not someone could actually separate their torso from their legs and live to tell the tale. We just aren’t sure how he pulls off his magic but we are more than O.K. with it. In fact, we hope the mystery continues to endure the test of time so that we can keep attending the show and increasing our chances of being picked for the audience participation. Let’s be real here. We are talking about the man who made Statue of Liberty disappear and who walked through the Great Wall of China. Clearly, anything is possible. Don’t believe us? See Copperfield perform for yourself and let us know just how many of his illusions and tricks you manage to figure out. And if you get pulled onstage, we’ll be insanely jealous.

The Rat Pack is Back!
People might immediately think Elvis when it comes to Las Vegas, but before The King, the city jived to the tune of four entertainers who won over audiences with their cool musical stylings and playful stage demeanor. During the 1960s, the Rat Pack – Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin brought fame and recognition to the city as both an entertainment capital and gambling destination during their run inside the Copa Room at the Sands. Today, audiences can relive the revelry and timeless music of the Rat Pack era in the show The Rat Pack is Back at Tuscany Suites. “What happens in Vegas all started with the Rat Pack,” said the show’s producer Dick Feeney. “The real legend of Vegas – the cool cats, the drinking, the partying, the gambling, they epitomized it, and people still look at those days with fond memories.” Video clips of vintage Vegas play on screens hanging on both sides of the stage, reminding everyone of where the city’s reputation as a glitzy and glamorous destination started. The curtain opens and the 7-piece Lon Bronson orchestra gets the audience going with some toe-tapping music before performers portraying all the members of the Rat Pack enter the stage. They sing and dance, conveying all of the charisma and camaraderie of the real entertainers. Dean takes center stage with drink in hand and fittingly sings, “Volare.” His smooth voice and casual stage presence convey all the essence of the real performer. He pauses between songs for some playful joking with the audience. “I’m on the whiskey diet,” says Dean, “in one week I lost four days.” Everyone laughs before he gets back to singing the Italian love song “That’s Amore” where he invites the audience to join in. Sammy Davis Jr. joins him on stage to sing “That Old Black Magic” and “Candy Man.” Just like the real Rat Pack, you never know who is going to come out on stage next. Sometimes the performers interrupt one another for some good old fashioned ribbing. Later in the show, the four guys are joined by a fabulous playboy bunny. Wearing the authentic bunny outfit and she sings “Happy Birthday” to a lucky guy in the audience. Frank, Sammy, Joey and Dean reunite on stage to belt out a few more classics including “Luck Be a Lady,” “Lady is a Tramp” and “New York, New York.” These three cool cats really know how to have a good time. By the end of the show you will too.

Michael Carbonaro – Lies on Stage
The Carbonaro Effect sounds a lot like the food coma that comes after scarfing down pasta for hours on end. But, upon further investigation, it’s a magic show featuring Michael Carbonaro. Now, this might sound disappointing because pasta is life, but this show is quite the opposite. Michael Carbonaro Live! is the pick me up everyone needs. From guest starring in shows like “Greys Anatomy,” “30 Rock” and “CSI: Miami,” to having his own hit TV show on truTV called “The Carbonaro Effect,” Carbonaro’s tricks are a true gem in this world. With his wild antics and over-the-top personality, he makes magic truly believable. Carbonaro uses hilarious video clips, audience interaction and of course magic to make this show one of the best. He had a stint working for the Mac King Comedy Magic Show in Las Vegas and has worked in the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. London also recently appeared on an episode of Fox’s “Raising Hope.”
Penn & Teller
There are some basic rules of magic. Never tell your audience how a trick is done, don’t show the audience how you prep for a trick, and never, ever perform the classic cups and balls trick with transparent cups. Well, Penn and Teller manage to break all of these rules and more in their show at the Rio Hotel and Casino and it’s perfection. Just like every amazing duo, Penn and Teller have their strengths and weaknesses and combined, they create the perfect storm of comedy, magic and entertainment. The tall, lanky Penn serves as a narrator, providing a running comedic commentary on just about everything they do, while Teller handles much of the show’s action, all without saying a single word. While there are some elements of classic magic and sleight of hand in the show, most of the tricks are incredibly creative, innovative, and sometimes bordering on the macabre. The fun of this show is that the duo lets the audience in on some of the tricks, but others are meant to completely mystify the crowd and it works. Comedic, mind-bending, and totally entertaining, Penn & Teller is a classic Vegas show that is a vacation rite of passage.

Banachek’s Mind Games
When it comes to the world of magic and mysticism, do you consider yourself a believer in the unknown? Well, it may surprise you that magician and master mentalist Banachek is a devoted nonbeliever, and trust us when we say that his skepticism is absolutely a gift to the world. Banachek’s current reputation as the world’s leading mentalist began when he was just 18 years old when Banachek and a friend signed up for a “scientific” study called Project Alpha. For the next four years, Banachek would use his arsenal of mentalist tricks to convince the newly founded McDonnell Laboratory for Psychical Research of Washington University. Some of these researchers were so convinced of Banachek’s “psychic abilities” that once he revealed the truth, they still refused to change their minds. Banachek has also partnered with multiple investigators to expose fraudulent psychics, mediums, and spiritualists who take advantage of the suffering and emotions of others for monetary gain. One of his most famous investigations was of the American televangelist Peter Popoff who he unmasked on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Carson in 1986. This must-see new show at The STRAT showcases the bewildering skill of Banachek, who Penn and Teller have boasted as “a magical thinker of deep, deep subtlety.”

His face may not move much during his show, but his hands are always in action, bringing to life his cast of lovable puppet co-stars. A multitalented performer, Fator got his big break when he won NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” in 2007. Fator won $1 million and a gig to perform on the Strip.
