Casinos are on the lookout for criminals who target tourists and gamblers that try to cheat. They use high tech surveillance to monitor people if they arouse suspicion or suspected of cheating when they gamble.

You do not have to tip anything. Courtesy dictates you should tip up to 1% or $5 to $10 of your winnings. You will need to have change with you to pay that amount. When you are hand paid for a big win, they never bring anything smaller than a $20 bill.

As of this writing, smoking is not allowed anywhere on the MGM Grand property which includes all rooms, bars, restaurants, gaming areas, common areas and swimming pools.

As of this writing, it is legal to walk down the Las Vegas Strip with an open container of alcohol if you are at least 21 years of age.

The first casino opening in Las Vegas was the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino on January 13, 1906. The original owner set up a temporary tent hotel in 1905 while he constructed the permanent structure, the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino.
